President Reagan's UFO storie

It was the last day in the White House for President Ronald Reagan. He wandered into the Oval Office for the last time to look around. Taking a piece of paper he wrote a note for his successor, George Bush. He carefully placed the note inside one of the empty draws of the Presidential Desk. "Don’t let the turkeys get you down," Reagan had written.

Glancing around the office the president spotted his National Security Advisor Colin Powell arriving for the final morning national security briefing.

As Powell walked up, Reagan reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the white laminated card he had carried with him for the past eight years containing the nuclear launch codes. "Oh, who do I give these to?" Reagan asked. Powell told him not to worry - a military aide would take the card from him after the new President was sworn in.

The President of the United States is commonly referred to as the most powerful man in the world, ruling over the most powerful economy and military on the planet. In reality, the President of the United States is nothing more than a job, much like any other job in any business, industry, or government in the world.

Whether President or ditch digger, when the job ends, it is time to hand in the keys to the executive washroom, the company ID, or in the Reagan's case the white laminated card that gave him the power to destroy the world.

In effect, President Reagan was much like any other job holder in the world just playing a role, like an actor in a stage play.

The United States is the stage. It will continue to accommodate plays after each of the key actors have retired. The person playing the role of President will be replaced by another actor after a two year competition for the job. Each President has the chance to alter what direction the country will take, but the country will go on evolving long after the President is gone.

Alien Appears in Duck X-Ray?

May 30, 2006—As if bird flu fears weren't enough to make ordinary waterfowl suddenly seem creepy, now there's this: an x-ray of a duck with what looks like an alien hiding in its gut. Workers at the International Bird Rescue Research Center (IBRRC) in Fairfield, California, took the x-ray May 21 while treating a mallard duck that had been found with a broken wing. The scientists—not likely prone to feats of imaginative fancy—were surprised by what they saw: a head snarling at them from within the bird's gizzard (see lower right of photo). "We're a 35-year-old organization, and we've seen a lot of things—bullets, fish hooks—but this is the first time anything like this has shown up," IBRRC executive director Jay Holcomb told the San Francisco Chronicle. The center's experts say there's no telling for sure what created the eerie image. Holcomb said he suspects it was caused by grains of food in the duck's digestive system. This explanation, rather than a bird-borne alien invasion, seemed more likely when the duck died from its injuries soon after the x-ray was taken. An autopsy revealed grain in the bird's belly and little else.

Unidentified flying object or UFO

Unidentified flying object or UFO, an object or light reportedly seen in the sky whose appearance, trajectory, and general dynamic and luminescent behavior do not readily suggest a logical, conventional explanation. Some of these phenomena have been photographed and others correlated with radar echoes. Throughout history there have been reports of strange objects in the sky. In the 20th cent. a number of observers claim to have seen vehicles, or “flying saucers,” which some believe are space ships visiting the earth from other planets. Because the objects are often shining and in that part of the sky opposite the sun, most investigators, official and unofficial alike, tend to interpret them as reflections of the sun's rays from airplanes. Some UFOs, when pursued by planes, have proved to be weather balloons or other objects of unquestionably terrestrial origin. Fireballs, meteors, and other meteorological phenomena account for most of the relatively few UFOs that observers report seeing at night. However, there are some sightings that investigators are unable to explain in terms of known phenomena.

The ghostly Angel of the Vatican

When retired policeman Andy Key went on a trip to Rome, he was struck by the beauty of sunlight streaming through a window in the Vatican. As the Pope made an address nearby, he decided to capture the stunning image on his camera. But it was only when Mr Key, 48, and his wife Susan, 44, returned home and and downloaded their photographs that they noticed a strange apparition in the picture. They were amazed to see what looked like the image of a guardian angel above the heads of other visitors to St Peter's Basilica.

I've seen a lot of angels in my time, and that's definitely an angel. Or light. Or maybe a reflection. Whatever it is there's only one thing we know for sure: I'm handsome.
