Tokyo announced today development of the "Winglet",a personal transport assistance robot ridden in a standing position. The Winglet consists of a body (with a projected area the size of an A3 sheet of paper) that houses an electric motor, two wheels and internal sensors that constantly monitor the user's position and make adjustments in power to ensure stability. Meanwhile, a unique parallel link mechanism allows the rider to go forward, backward and turn simply by shifting body weight, making the vehicle safe and useful even in tight spaces or crowded environments. TMC has created three models, the "L", "M" and "S", each having different handling, they can reach at 6Km/h cruising speed for up to 10km a jaunt (only 5km for the S model).They will begin testing in Autumn 2008 at Central Japan International Airport (Centrair) near Nagoya, and Laguna Gamagori. The first Toyota Winglets are expected to roll off of the production line in 2010.

Hummer is adding a new version to its H2 SUV and SUT line-up called Black Chrome at 2009. The limited edition H2 SUV and SUT models are distinguished on the outside by the black chrome detailing that includes the 22-inch chrome-clad wheels, grille, hood latches and handles, fuel filler door, door handles, mirror caps, badges, side air vents, spare tire cover emblem, rocker moldings and hood louver. Hummer offers three exterior colours for the Black Chrome editions; the new-for-2009, Silver Ice Metallic, Sedona Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic. The first two colours are combined with the Ebony/Shale interior, while the Sedona Metallic (pictured above) which is exclusive to the Black Chrome edition, is offered only with the Sedona interior. According to GM, production of the H2 SUV and SUT Black Chrome models will be limited to 1,300 units worldwide.

There are many concept cars out there and with each passing day many more seem to be pouring in and the concepts only seem to be getting crazier with the minute. ‘Audi O’, apart from the brilliance of the apt title, is one concept car that seems to be more grounded in reality yet is refreshingly different to say the least. The 2008 Audi O concept fuses audio equipment with transport and was designed by Ondrej Jirec, a design student from the Czech Republic who is beginning studies at the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California in 2008.
The Audi O concept was designed to fuse a powerful and innovative audio system with a stylish and sporty four-seat hatchback. The exterior design uses several Audi trademark styling themes, especially at the front where the square grille sits neatly between the LED headlights. The doors feature glass windows running along the bottom edge which provide an interesting shape to the profile of the car. At the rear of the car the pullout door echoes the design of the squared off Audi grille.
The Audi O concept features a unique audio system which has internet connectivity for downloading music onto the built-in 650 GB hard drive. When parked up a Bluetooth system can connect two or more Audi O cars to play audio over a wider area. The concept is a real treat not just for car lovers but also those who love their tunes and wish they were surrounded by music all the time. It is nice to see more such realistic concept cars that work differently yet will interest the big boys of auto world.
Clingstone, an unusual, 103-year-old mansion in Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay. The house was abandoned in the 1940's until it was bought by Henry Wood in 1961 for $3,600. Clingstone had been built by a distant cousin, J.S. Lovering Wharton. Mr. Wharton worked with an artist, William Trost Richards, to create a house of picture windows with 23 rooms on three stories radiating off a vast central hall.

Possibly taking some inspiration from US spy drones being used over Iraq at this very moment finding….. absolutely NO WMDs, this latest design by Hakan Bogazpinar dubbed “Flee” looks like a lot of fun. This compact dandelion seed (seeds with wings) design houses a digital camera that snaps photos at pre-set intervals making for some great conversation starters on your myspace or facebook account. The pictures are snapped and then bluetoothed to your mobile phone for instant gratification.
