Kite Sailing Yacht

The Kite Sailing Kitano Yacht designed by Stefani Krucke introduces kite sailing technology to the leisure sailing yacht class and benefits from the many advantages that technology has to offer. One of them being the constant and stronger wind speeds found at higher altitudes.

Compared to a normal sail the kite has less surface area but still generates enough force so that even a gentle breeze lifts the hull to a planing speed. Equipped with a hydraulically operated centerboard, even sailing in shallow water and littorals are possible without risk.

The Yacht itself can house and home up to 8 passengers with the latest in luxury any client would love. On top of that, it’s totally green so even treehuggers can step off land once in awhile.

A Flower To Test The Waters

A nice warm bath is soothing to the soul. It helps to un-wind after a long stressful day and to just relax and forget about everything for a time. The flower plug was designed to allow the user to know when the bath water was just the right temperature by changing color from a light pink to a beautiful deep purple color. Once the flower is purple, it is safe to enter the water without the fear of it being too hot. The small flower also adds to the ambience of the relaxation experience of the tub bath.

The Flying Fish

Volitan is a new lightweight and futuristic concept boat for everyday peeps like you and I. Using solid sails, wind power and solar energy, the Volitan will also be the greenest on the seas. Her name comes from a word that means “flying fish” which she sorta looks like when her sails are down.

The Volitan’s systems are controlled and optimized by a networked computer. Whilst sailing, wind and solar energy are harnessed and stored in the boat’s batteries, enough to stay operational thru day and night.

Dynamic stability is key to wing design and is affected by various weather conditions. To compensate the boat’s wings track the sun and wind for optimal power. In extreme weather conditions, they fold up against the boat but have no fear because the Volitan is engineered to operate in up to 60 knot winds.

The floating wings (moving panels with DC motors) on the sides of the boat were designed to fore and support the moving solar wings performance and overall stability. The motors on both sides of the boat are placed in such so navigation performance is maximized. The vessel can easily turn on a dime thanks to the two smaller stabilizer wings and when docking the sails retract and tuck away neatly.

Sony Ericsson Plays Nice With Thumb Drives

You know, industrial designers seem to love conceptualizing what future Sony Ericsson mobiles will look like. Designer Vincent Palicki is just one of many but his design actually looks like it could be made today and fit right in with the SE family.

It’s a slim candy bar style phone complete with a big screen, standard SE key layout but touched up with stainless steel buttons. Yes it’ll do music, movies, text, email, blah blah and blah so where’s the innovation here? It would be the full size USB port, perfect for any thumb drive. Of course it’s not meant to have a “sore thumb” sticking out at all times, but it’s a way to transfer files like music, videos, and pictures to and from without the need of a computer.

Liika - Ironing Board with Suction Cups by Tony Zakrajsek

The Liika ironing board utilizes suction cups which allow it to be attached to any non porous surface. This eliminates legs which can be knocked over and it also allows the device to be attached to a height level which is comfortable to the user, eliminating strain. The articulating arms, which rotate and pivot, offer a large range of motion allowing the Liika to conform to almost any household area, such as counter tops, windows and walls.

$10.5 Million BlackBerry 8830 World Edition Smartphone (Some Accessories Included)

From Sprint:

“For a limited time, buy a Blackberry 8830 World Edition smartphone for 10.5 million dollars, and we’ll throw in your very own private island. Think about it: 10.5 million dollars… Now, that may not sound like a lot, but we think you’ll find that controlling the world with this smartphone from your very own island worth more than the price.”

Is Sprint kidding? Who cares? The website offering the package deal even includes helpful hints and tips for the private island lifestyle:

“DO bring lightweight and waterproof clothing to your island. Hand-stitched silks and imported leather may make and impressions at a 5-star restaurant, but nothing impresses more in a tsunami-prone micro-climate like a 4 dollar poncho. DO NOT wear your expensive colognes / perfumes on your island. These scents will not prevent insects from detecting or biting you and may act as man-made pheromones, increasing your chances of being approached by amorous indigenous species.”

This island itself includes a dock and a modest looking house; suggested extras include an a-class catamaran (a bit on the small size, if you ask me), a handball court, a koi pond, and a yurt for the servant(s). Unfortunately, you need to have a six-digit BIN (Billionaire Identification Number) in order to purchase the island package directly from the website. No, I’m not going to tell you mine. If for some reason you’re interested in just the phone, it’s only $200 with a 2 year data plan agreement.

Oh, and apparently, billionaires have their own social bookmarking website, which you can find at http://s.crumptio.us/, of course.

In Win Makes a Case for the Ladies

For all the gamer girls out there, the In Win Allure is for you. The Allure is a PC case that has a pearly, metallic white paint job inlaid with a pink SWAROVSKI crystal floral motif. In Win says this case is a sign of your love for a special person. I guess the hope is this case will be gifted for the holidays to the female gamer/computer user.

The case is certainly pretty and is a mid tower design that can hold Micro-ATX mainboards only. Several drive bays are available on the case with two external 5.25-inch bays, two external 3.5-inch bays, and two internal 3.5-inch bays. Front ports include a pair of USB ports, a IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port, and HD audio port. Four expansion slots are on the rear of the case and it uses a standard PSII size power supply. Overall dimensions are 14.5-inches H x 7.5-inches W x 18.5-inches D.

Kenwood Pen-Based Navigation System

Kenwood has come up with a clever way to bridge the gap between traditional printed maps and GPS units for those who might not be gadget-inclined. Shown at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, the navigation system just requires you to point to any place on the map where it will then be displayed on the GPS-equipped electronic unit. At that point you can presumably get turn-by-turn driving instructions or other information about your selected destination.

I assume the system uses specially printed maps for interacting with the pen, but I have no idea if it’s destined for production or is nothing more than an auto show concept.

USB Retro Vacuum Has No Attachments

The USB Desk Vacuum Cleaner is a USB powered vacuum cleaner that can (allegedly) suck up dust and crumbs from your desk. They run $34 from bimbambanana and come in that awesome brown and tan color combo. According to the product page, "With classic retro style, you can suck your way to success!" Now I happen to know all about sucking your way to success, because that's why I'm the famous actress I am today, and never was there any "classic retro style" involved. You can totally do it without that.

Sony Ericsson PXi For Lefties

Bence Bogar must be a leftie because his SE PXi concept is a product specifically created for all lefties tho it’s flexible enough for righties too. Obviously following the current direction of SE’s P series of smartphones, the PXi is powerful while staying somewhat slim and ergonomic. The body is magnesium framing a big 3.3 inch touchscreen. The screen rotates automatically ala iPhone and is optimized for both finger and stylus input. The right side of the unit houses a jogdial and a secondary touchscreen which adapts to whatever app is currently open. The smartphone also sports not 1 but 2 card slots for all memory whores. Business functions aside, the PXi is equipped with stereo speakers and a Cybershot class 5 megapixel camera.

I don’t know much about lefties but if the PXi was created with them in mind, isn’t the jogdial on the wrong side? I’m just saying.

$2,400 headphones get price cut

This memorable pair of bejeweled DJ headphones first appeared on Crave nearly a year ago, though that version had only clear crystals. The updated set shown here, however, was created with pink amethyst stones specifically for the 2007 Swarovski Fashion Rocks U.K. event for the Prince's Trust charity, according to BornRich. And we're happy to report that the headphones have actually come down in price--from to $2,400 from the original $2,500. Or maybe that's only with a coupon source

Hello Kitty phone looks like a tombstone

Sure, Beyonce can have her "B'Phone," but she's got a lot of catching up to do where the "K" is concerned. As the Sanrio empire continues its quest for world domination, the evil Hello Kitty has been dispatched to Taiwan for a special-edition Okwap C150T phone, according to Akihabara News.

The mobile handset, only the latest of HK's cellular conquests, has a 2-megapixel camera and plays MP3s and video. Perhaps its most unusual feature is a particularly ornate design on the back of the phone that resembles a tombstone. No such luck, however.

Hello Kitty's black-hearted assault

We've known for awhile that NEC's co-branded LaVie G laptops have been cursed, ever since they did a deal with the Sanrio devil. So there wasn't much new to report when the Japanese company came out with yet another Hello Kitty model, though we do think that its black color is a more accurate reflection of evil feline's soul.

But that, as it turns out, was only the beginning of this latest assault. Hello Kitty Hell reports that the black laptop is only one component of a new hardware set that also includes a Swarovski-studded mouse and USB drive. The mouse, by the way, is distinguishable for both its shape and color--a black heart. Need we say more?
