A latest study claims that — a dark chocolate reduces blood pressure, and only small amount is needed.
Jacques Torres who is a cocoa confectioner told that all the benefits of cocoa lies in its core. When you guys try to break the cocoa bean, you will find the nibs. This part doesn’t have any sugar and contains antioxidants.
A recent research that took place in Germany had also given some proofs that associates dark chocolate with good health, and its small amount would be sufficient.
The participants of the study consumed 6 grams of dark chocolate per day for nearly 5 months. The guys who consumed that much amount only had shown lower blood pressure in comparison to those who consumed white chocolate.
The scientists found that consumption of tiny amount of dark chocolate regularly is a change in diet and it is easy to follow. The study followed — 44 persons of age 56-73.
Dr. Dirk Taubert who is the lead author of the study, said in a statement:
The blood pressure reductions with dark chocolate were small but still substantial enough to potentially reduce cardiovascular disease risks, although study volunteers weren’t followed long enough to measure that effect.
The chocolate have bundles of calories, so the researching team tested a tiny amount which has only 30 calories.
Dark chocolate is good health but its use should be limited as it can be harmful for health and as a result one can gain weight and many more other problems. So it is suggested that don’t consume lot of chocolate for lowering the blood pressure.
Study participants were quite healthy people and most of them have weight which is considered to be normal, and their blood pressure is slightly high.
For nearly 18 weeks daily — the participants were asked to consume one-square of a 16 squares Ritter Sport bar, or same amount of white chocolate. The white chocolates don’t have the cocoa content.
The Systolic blood pressure drop by an average of approximately 3 points and diastolic lowered by 2 points in the dark chocolate consuming group, in comparison to white chocolate group, which showed no change in blood pressure.
The scientists mentioned that the tests show that a balanced consumption of dark chocolate makes a chemical change that dilates the blood vessels and help in the regulation of blood pressure.
The study Participants were asked not to consume other things that have cocoa and to go on with regular consuming habits and also maintain their activity. They were also asked to maintain dairy to mention their food intake so that the scientists could checkout whether other foods consumption have effected the results.
Chocolate-manufacturers were happy with these types of discoveries and they have launched different types of dark chocolates in market to satisfy the people, and these dark chocolates have vitamins and antioxidants. The demand of dark chocolate increased and with this and its sale rose to 40% previous year.
