Loop Concept is all Solar Panels and Touchscreen Windows

Loop explores the relationships between the present and the future. Loop is Peugeot’s green thinking for tomorrow’s megatropolis. It signifies the use of green thinking – how we use our resources today determines what we will receive in return in the future.

The roof spreads along the entire length of the body maximizing space for a solar panel which acts as a secondary power source for this family car. It also creates an interesting visual pattern. The primary energy source is a rechargeable lithium battery located at the rear of the vehicle. Materials proposed for the vehicle are eco-friendly tho the designer doesn’t specify what exactly.

A gangway feel is provided between two rows of seats. Semi-circular bags are located along this gangway. They come with customized options for storage, entertainment, interaction, etc, providing the user with greater flexibility and ease of use.

Space is also provided for a small indoor plant. This brings the outdoors into the interior and gives a sense of the natural surroundings beyond the gull-wing doors.

Another feature is a Hi-tech concept camera, embedded within the passenger windows. Whenever anything interesting is seen on the road, passengers touch their window to capture a snapshot.

Nokia BMW video phone concept

Meet the Nokia BMW Video Phone. Take one look and it’s obviously the BMW of cellphones right? A thing of beauty. It’s what you get when you combine the ultimate driving machine with the ultimate video mobile phone.

The Nokia BMW mobile phone has an interesting standout feature called “push to open” which is a mechanism that rotates 90 degrees. Push the button and your phone is a handy-cam. We’re thinking they should get on this one real quick, but experience tells us that they’ll take their own sweet time and let someone else beat them to it. Someone like Sony for instance.

2009 Yamaha YZF-R1

The 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 is the first ever street legal motorcycle with a crossplane crankshaft which previously could be only be found in their MotoGP racing bikes. The 90 degree positioning of the connecting rods in the crossplane crankshaft allows for better power distribution and removes inertial crankshaft torque for smoother torque output. Other new features include Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle for instant throttle response, D-Mode for rider selectable throttle control modes, and a new lightweight aluminum frame coupled with a rear frame of die-cast magnesium.

Skullcandy sticks an MP3 player into the side of their headphones

Fancy headphone makers Skullcandy have just unveiled a new set of headphones that come with an embedded portable media player, removing the need for wires of any kind. The portable media player slides into one side of the headphones, and it can be removed so you can change songs sort through your music. It also has a headphone jack, so if you want you can use it with any other set of headphones.

It's a pretty cool design, although I wonder if the convenience of not having to carry a music player would be outweighed by the added bulkiness and the necessity of sliding the PMP out of the headphones every time you wanted to change songs. It's certainly an interesting concept, and with Skullcandy's reputation for high-quality headphones, one that could do pretty well.

HP unveils Vivienne Tam high fashion notebook

Recent history has shown us that high fashion designers teaming with hardware companies won't necessarily yield you a home run with consumers, but the trend continues nevertheless. With echoes of New York Fashion Week still reverberating, Hewlett Packard has unveiled a new laptop called the Digital Clutch Notebook designed by none other than Chinese fashion big shot Vivienne Tam.

Festooned with an oriental floral pattern, the intent of the collaboration was to create a notebook that looked more like a purse than a computer. Mission accomplished. But far from a purely superficial pass at notebook design, Tam also designed the computer's overall packaging and included a special "enter" key on the keyboard featuring the Chinese character meaning "double happiness." Although pricing has not been announced, the notebook your girlfriend or wife would kill for will be available next year here.

Lego skateboard for some bricktacular shredding

LEGO artist extraordinaire Nathan Sawaya’s recent project is this super sweet LEGO skateboard. It’s actual size, and based on the close-up picture of the wheels I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s not actually ride-able.

According to the artist, his inspiration came about thusly: “My friend recently bought a new deck and it only took me a few seconds of staring at it before I realized what my next project would be. I didn’t want to imitate any particular design, so I came up with my own. I call it my NATEboard. Because my name is Nate. And it sounds like skateboard. And I’m lonely.”

It seems hard to believe that a guy with such insane LEGO talents could ever be lonely. Seriously, there must be tons of girls who would love to meet a bricksmith of this caliber, right?

You can see more of Nate’s Lego projects at The Art of the Brick.

    FoilJet MR1

Eco Factor: Uses foils under the hull of the vehicle, which reduce water and noise pollution and give a quiet and clean ride.

The FoilJet MR1, designed by Matt De Bellefeuille, is a very unique concept vehicle on water that gives you an awesome ride and helps reduce water pollution. Large man-made sounds are as much a threat to marine life as solid waste that is dumped into the oceans. The electric powered FoilJet ensures that it gives you an adventurous ride on the waves without too much noise. The FoilJet uses a very unique technique in which foils located under the hull of the vehicle act as wings that propel the vehicle completely out of the water. The vehicle moves on the propulsion of the foils, which appear to put it on stilts.

This reduces both noise and pollution. The electric vehicle is propelled by an engine that is all electric and can go for good three hours after a 10-minute charge. This also rules out the risk of any oil spills in case of an accident. With safety features such as a simple switch to shut the engine down and wonderful style, the FoilJet is an eco-delight at $15,000. The innovative foils also have a speed gauge that tells you when to turn them off as you enter shallow water.

    The Dark Side:

Irrespective of all the precautions taken, such adventure sports do end up causing damage to the marine ecosystem. Considering that the foils are ineffective in shallow waters, it still does not solve the problem of such speedsters in shallow water lagoons.

    The limousine of caravan world

It is generalized that the key to inexpensive holidays is to go caravanning. Possessing a caravan of your own can grants relief from other expenses like transporting, lodging and eating out. However, caravanning holidays can live or die by the quality of the caravan you ride in. If you do intend to travel in style even as you stay put on the roads then the Tabbert Paganini is the finest alternative. A luxurious well-designed mansion on wheels allows you to move about like a king. Sporting an imposing exterior form, the pleasure doubles up with exquisitely detailed interiors. Unobtrusive stainless steel veins in the top cabinets, and the table with real wood edge are visible and tangible proof of highest quality.
