Finally !! The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford Trailer Online

Brad Pitt's most intriguing role in many years is as Jesse James in the oddly titled 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.' The movie wrapped up last year and has been an enigma ever since.

We were interesting to see if Pitt, who also produces, could turn out the role of the deeply flawed Jesse James. And we were interested to see if they would keep that long-ass title for the film that has everyone shaking their heads.

Various opening dates have come and gone without a peep for the flick which is a bad sign for any movie. When a movie gets constantly bumped back it means something is wrong.

Why the delay?

Word on the streets of L.A. point to a slight power struggle in the running time and tone of the film. [source]

"According to the Los Angeles Times, the key issues behind the brouhaha are the film's tone and over three-hour running time. The studio is said to have wanted more of a Clint Eastwood-style actioner, while director Andrew Dominik "wanted to deliver a dark, contemplative examination of fame and infamy, in the spirit of director Terrence Malick."

It's hard to say which version of the film is going to be released. We're rooting for the darker, Malick style. However, it is good news to know the reason behind the delay is just an editorial pissing contest. That's at least an artistic problem as compared to bad script rewrites or bad acting reshoots.

But with the power of Director's cut DVD's, we expect to see both versions to role out eventually. For now, check out the newly release full-length trailer.
