Fantec Porsche Steering Wheel

This authentic Porsche 911 Turbo Racing Wheel for PC and Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) has a leather-covered wheel and features a tuning display that allows gamers to change settings like sensitivity or Force Feedback during gameplay. A Mabuchi RS 550 Motor is responsible for the extra strong Force Feedback effects with additional Force Feedback actuators in the wheel used to stimulate motor vibrations.

The wheel also features an adjustable turning angle whereby changes can be made directly on the wheel to 900°, 360°, 180° or in 1° steps by software. There are 2 separate shifters – sequential and 6+1 speed H-pattern with realistic shifting feel – and illuminated buttons show different symbols whether the wheel is connected to a PlayStation or PC.

Available from early May for $349.99 about £175

Samsung P960: A TV-phone for the European market

Samsung’s P960 is a super nice looking cell phone that is also a mobile entertainment center, with a cute retro antenna. It’s touted as being the first slider handset with mobile TV support for Europe. Up to this point, supported Euro mobile TV standards are DVB-CBMS and OMA-BCAST. Unfortunately, those of us living in North America probably won’t be getting toys like this one anytime soon as we lag far behind other countries where mobile TV is concerned.

Sony DAV-F200: Small footprint home theater

STYLE AND SOPHISTICATION. That’s one way to describe Sony’s new Bravia home theater setup, the DAV-F200. Another, less boisterous way to describe it is by calling it what it is: a virtual surround sound, um, home theater setup. While “virtual” surround setups have gotten better over the years (so says one of the guys who calls into Leo Laporte’s radio show occasionally), I personally would break the bank, spend the dollars while they’re still worth something and get an all-out surround sound system. But maybe you don’t have the space, I don’t know. If so, hear me out for a second.

In addition to supplying virtual surround sound, the DAV-F200 receiver upconverts content to 1080p, delivered via an HDMI connection. There’s a USB port on the little guy, too, so you can connect your PMPs and have Men Without Hats blast out of the speakers.

Yes, I’d have to actually “hear” the unit in action to say whether or not it’s worth plopping down cash for, but it certainly looks aesthetically attractive. Look for it in June.

Samsung Electronics Unveils S2 MP3 Player

Looking for a stylish yet small DAP, here's the S2... ! More information below !

SEOUL, KOREA – April 24, 2008 – Samsung’s fashionable, cobblestone-shaped S2 MP3 player (officially called the “YP-S2”) is now on the market to offer a new design trend and lifestyle accessory. The product concept is a “musical gemstone.” The basic function as a music player has been strengthened for the best possible audio quality. The cobblestone shape brings a special visual and tactile quality to the music listening experience.

Samsung employs its own Digital Natural Sound engine (DNSe™), a sound enhancing technology, to deliver an amazing audio quality from such a small and adorable object. The refined design, which includes a natural smoothness of the surface, and the subdued LED lighting effects take S2’s fashionableness to the next level. The player rests effortlessly in the hand, like a smooth pebble, and the simplified controls can be operated intuitively. The product is a pleasure simply to fondle.

The Favorite Music mode facilitates selection of specific tunes the user wants to hear. In addition, a one-piece necklace attachment allows the user to turn the S2 into a fashion accessory.

Samsung engineers were concerned about utility when they developed the S2. The result is a multiplicity of functions combined with great user friendliness.

Buyers can select their S2 in one of five different colors, including black, white or metallic.

S2 will be available in June worldwide.

Oujia Board Guitar: Sing-Along To The Spirits

Some teens entertain themselves by watching TV and listening to music. Others go out for a midnight run to the graveyard with their Oujia boards, on a quest to contact the dead. You can guess which of those demographics gets the most dates, but how can a musician yield to the spirits while maintaining his cool factor?

The Oujia Board Slide Guitar eternally binds the correlation of gothic culture and musicians. The slide guitar is a much less played form of the instrument, but if you’re a geeky enough kid to play the slide, then you might just be geeky enough to whip out the Oujia board for a rousing night of ghostly interaction. — Andrew Dobrow

NVidia Branded 8800GT for Macs Available at a Steep Premium

The price of the new 8800GT probably won’t make any MacFans (don’t get upset guys, I am really with you on this one) decide not to buy Macs, but it sure as hell is going to make them angry. The premium on the video card is up to $100 depending on which respectably branded PC model you choose. This is just bad publicity for Apple, I get that they have great quality control, but where is this mysterious extra $100 of value; don’t tell me it is in the drivers. Apple gear is always going to be more expensive, you are paying for quality, marketing and brand, when those price-hikes extend to third-party equipment, however, you have to ask what is going on. Price: $279

Evolution of Man and TV

Check out the comic above - it is a hilarious but true take of the evolution of us homo sapiens and TV - apparently the thinner a TV gets (in addition to cell phones and other hi-tech stuff such as iPods), the fatter we become due to a sedentary lifestyle. Pretty funny, no?
